Antique E. Anatolian/Kurdish Prayer Rug

$0.00

This East Anatolian prayer rug was made by Kurdish weavers, probably in the region of Sivas, some in the last half of the 19th C. Intense natural dyes (including an insect red field), beautiful wool and exceptional condition make this a spectacular example, including the varied border motifs and unusual ‘shoulders’ at the neck of the mihrab. One lower corner was re-woven many years ago, and is pretty much invisible from the frontside. 37” x 60”
