Antique Yomud Juval with Deep Purple

$0.00

Wonderful, large size antique juval (tent storage bag, aka, chuval), made by the Yomud tribe of central Asia/Turkmenistan, during the late 19th C. In addition to the very large medallions (known as guls), which are emblematic of Yomud weavings, this piece features an deep, naturally derived purple background, that compliments the other natural dyes used in this rather large weaving. Minor condition issues, as shown, that are consistent with age and use, over the last 140 years! But complete and unrestored. 50” x 36”
